Waters, Nash chose K-State

The Kansas State football team got two commitments from Iowa Western players on Thursday.

Quarterback Jake Waters, defensive end Devon Nash announced commitments to the Wildcats. Defensive back Travis Green committed earlier this week.

Iowa Western won the junior college national championship this season, beating Butler 27-7.

Waters, the NJCAA Player of the Year and a first-team All-American, threw for 3,500 yards this season, including a nation-leading 39 passing touchdowns.

It was believed that Waters was leaning toward committing to Penn State, but he announced his choice as K-State during a live broadcast alongside Nash.

Nash, also a first-team All-American, finished the season with 36 tackles and 4.5 sacks, and finished with an interception. Green had 62 tackles and five interceptions.

Nash chose the Wildcats over fellow Big 12 team Oklahoma State.
