Water damage at Eighteen63

By The Mercury

Manhattan Fire Department firefighters responded to significant water damage at Eighteen63, a bar in Aggieville, early Saturday morning after a sprinkler alarm sounded.

According to officials, the alarm was activated at approximately 3:40 a.m., because of a broken sprinkler head in the lofts above the bar.

The leak reportedly dumped more than 30 gallons of water per minute into the bar for about 20 minutes.

The water caused damage to the ceiling of the bar and pooled onto the floor.

Officials said the sprinkler system was shut down and the water was cleaned up, though the bar could be closed for several weeks.

The bar reportedly was set to celebrate its one-year anniversary that night.

The total water damage is estimated to be at $10,000.
