Warren V. McCracken, 90, of Belleville died July 31, 2014.

He was born March 14, 1924, in rural Cuba, the youngest son of Thaddeus L. McCracken and Myrtle (Dorman) McCracken.

He served with the United States Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to Gladys Bednar on June 29, 1947.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belleville, a lifelong member of Baker Holmes VFW Post No. 3722 and Robert E. Gordon American Legion Post No. 133 in Belleville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thaddeus and Myrtle McCracken; one brother, Donald McCracken; and two sisters, June E. Anderson and Louise Kaufman.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys McCracken of the home; daughter, Alesia (David) Stroh of Midwest City, Okla.; son, Randy (Cam) McCracken of Manhattan; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 4, at the First United Methodist Church, Belleville.

There will also be military graveside services by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to North Central Kansas Health Care Foundation or First United Methodist Church.

Friends may call on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home in Belleville.
