The Wamego boys’ and girls’ track teams won the North Central Kansas League titles on Friday.
The Wamego girls scored 142 team points to easily take the title by nearly 30 points. The Wamego boys edged Abilene with 156.50 points to the Cowboys’ 142.
The girls’ team got a fourth-place finish from Maddie Vontz in the 200-meter dash, while Megan Rodgers finished third in the 400.
Brooke Ward, Allison Seufert and Tessa Seeberger finished 1-2-3 in the 800 run. Seufert and Seeberger finished 1-2 in the 1,600 and Seufert win the 3,200.
Riley Wilson took fourth in the 300 hurdles, while the Red Raiders were fourth in the 4x100, third in the 4x400 and third in the 4x800.
Alexis Pettay took second in the long jump and Vontz was fourth. Vontz took first in triple jump with Pettay in second and Seufert in sixth. Kayla Evans was second in shot put and Brooke Woodward was fifth with Michelle Wahl in sixth. Evans was second in discus, while Woodward was first in javelin.
On the boys’ side, John Sullivan was second in the 100 dash with Ethan Thomas in sixth. Sullivan was second in the 200 and Thomas was sixth. Sullivan took first in the 400 and Joe Sullivan took fourth.
Cannon Woodward was first in the 800, while Anthony Klecan was fourth and Colby Nelsen was fifth. Matt Scherer, Woodward and Ethan Artzer went 3-4-5 in the 1,600. Scherer and Artzer went 2-3 in the 3,200 with Gavin Alexander in sixth.
Chris Willette and Joey Holley went 4-5 in the 110 hurdles. Holley was second in the 300 hurdles, while Willette was fourth and Cameron Chapman was sixth.
The 4x100 relay took first, and the 4x400 took second. The 4x800 relay finished in third.
Patrick Hobbs was third in the high jump and Eli Miller was fourth. Holley was fifth in the long jump. Joe Sullivan took third in the triple jump.
Michael Bryan was fourth in the shot put and Miller was fifth. Miller took third in the discus and Bryan was fifth. John Madewell was fifth in the javelin.
