Wamego wins in rout

At Wamego, Marshall Wethington was 18-of-31 for 242 yards and two touchdowns as the Wamego Red Raiders beat Marysville 40-24 in their home opener on Friday.

Wethington was picked off twice, but made up for it with some big passes throughout the contest, including nine catches from Dakota Turner for 164 yards and both scores.

Trenton York carried the ball eight times for 65 yards and a touchdown for the Red Raiders, while Wamego scored another on the ground and returned one of their five interceptions of Marysville quarterbacks for a touchdown.

The Red Raiders will be at home again on Friday when they host Concordia.
