Wamego takes NCKL title

At Clay Center, with their fifth straight win this season, the Wamego Red Raiders won the North Central Kansas League title on Friday night with a 35-12 win over Clay Center

The Red Raiders trailed 12-0, but Marshall Wethington brought the team within five points before halftime with an 18-yard touchdown run.

Wamego would score 35 unanswered points en route to the win, claiming its first outright league title in 31 years.

Wethington was 17-of-27 passing for 241 yards and a touchdown. He ran for 66 yards and another two.
