At Baldwin, the undefeated and top-ranked Wamego girls’ basketball team endured a tough night shooting the ball by Kaylee and Lanie Page, but still beat Ottawa, 49-26, in Thursday’s Class 4A-Div. I semifinal.

The Red Raiders (21-0) will match up with Hayden (17-4) in Saturday’s sub-state final, in what will likely be Wamego’s toughest test since its win over Riley County in January.

Wamego led by seven at halftime before locking down defensively in the third quarter, forcing Ottawa into a rash of turnovers while outscoring the Cyclones 14-5 to end any thought of a comeback.

lee Page scored 17 points, while Lanie Page added 10. Caitlyn Claussen and Allison Seufert each scored six points.
