Wamego competes at Seaman Relays

The Wamego track and field teams competed against 22 teams on Friday at the Seaman Relays, with the girls’ team taking 11th and the boys’ team finishing 17th.

The girls’ team was highlighted by a first-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay, as the group of Brooke Ward, Allison Seufert, Riley Wilson and Tessa Seeberger won the event at a time of 10:03.85.

Brooke Woodward grabbed the only other top three finish for the Red Raiders’ girls, taking second in the javelin with a long throw of 117-08.

The 4x400 relay of Ward, Wilson, Seeberger and Seufert took fifth, while Maddie Vontz was sixth in the triple jump.

On the boys’ side, the 4x800 of Cannon Woodard, Matt Scherer, Ethan Artzer and Anthony Klecan took sixth, while Eli Miller was seventh in the discus.
