Wabaunsee tops Rock Creek 16-7

At Alma, Rock Creek scored the opening points of its game with Wabaunsee on Friday, but couldn’t cross the end zone again in a 16-7 loss.

Zac Nider scored on an 11-yard run in the first quarter before the lights went out on the Mustangs’ offense.

Wabaunsee scored a pair of 1-yard rushing touchdowns in the second quarter and forced Rock Creek into a safety in the fourth quarter.

Rock Creek (0-2, 0-1 Mid-East) will be at home for the first time this season against St. Marys next week. The Bears (1-1) beat Valley Heights 42-13 this week.
