Volunteers key to success of Kansas Sampler Festival

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

What a weekend! Thank you to the more than 250 people who volunteered to help with the 25th annual Kansas Sampler Festival in Wamego. Thank you to the elected officials, members of the clergy, teachers, retirees, business owners, American Legion, Wamego Pyro Crew and civic club members, WTC Communications and Bluestem Electric employees, students and so many others who volunteered to make the festival a great experience for our visitors and exhibitors.

Also, thank you to Caterpillar Work Tools, Wamego CVB, Pottawatomie County, WTC, Manhattan CVB and all of our sponsors for helping us to bring this festival to Wamego and Pottawatomie County.

We set a goal of hosting the largest festival in the smallest host city and we exceeded even our own expectations. With 11,728 attendees, we showed the entire state that small towns can accomplish big things.

Thank you again to all who played a part in an amazing event!
