VFW to offer holiday wreath ceremony

By The Mercury

Fort Riley will host the annual Wreaths Across America observance in conjunction with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1281, at 11 a.m. Saturday at the post cemetery.

The ceremony will include a presentation of seven ceremonial wreaths — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and POW/MIA – along with remarks by 1st Infantry Division senior Leader Brig. Gen. Donald MacWillie.

This is the sixth year of Fort Riley’s involvement. WAA is held every year on the second Saturday in December, with simultaneous observances across America.
