A downtown beauty supply store needs a makeover — courtesy of a suspected drunken driver.

At about 2 a.m. Tuesday, Riley County police responded to Linde International Beauty Supply, 114 S. Fourth St.

Officers discovered that Scott Daougherty, 23, of Junction City, had crashed his 2004 Ford F150 into the storefront. Daougherty was arrested for driving under the influence.

Tire marks on the pavement and sidewalk outside the store Tuesday morning showed the truck hopped the curb, took out a small tree and a trash can and then careened into the store.

The crash caused significant damage to the storefront, which was boarded up Tuesday morning.

Some merchandise also was damaged, according to a police report. The estimated cost of damage was unknown Tuesday.

No one was injured. As of Tuesday morning, Daougherty was confined in Riley County Jail on $750 bond.
