Valley Heights boys beat Frankfort

At Blue Rapids, the Valley Heights boy’s basketball took the lead in the Twin Valley League standings on Friday with a 44-38 win over Frankfort.

The Mustangs moved to 7-1 with the win, while Hanover didn’t play due to weather and remained at 6-1. Centralia lost in overtime to fall to 6-2.

The Mustangs (12-2) jumped on Frankfort to take a 16-7 lead after the first quarter, and led 23-15 going into halftime.

Valley Heights outscored Frankfort 15-7 in the third quarter, with Derek Trimble scoring nine points in the period alone, as the Mustangs went ahead 38-22.

Trimble finished with 12 points for the Mustangs, while Elijah Smith chipped in 12 points.

Frankfort (2-11) was led by Lucas Adams, who scored 10 points.
