Unleashed pets turned a pleasant outing into a terrifying experience

Late Thursday afternoon I was walking my two grandsons to the playground at Bluemont Elementary School. As we turned the corner at Thurston and Juliette, a terrier-sized dog bolted from a house on the northeast corner, baring his teeth and barking as he came, stopping an arm’s length away from my terrified grandsons, who were crying and hanging on to me.
