Authorities from several law enforcement agencies, including the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, are conducting search warrants throughout Manhattan, Junction City and Ogden in an investigation, officials said, culminating on Wednesday.
Details on the nature of the investigation will not be released until Thursday, but KBI officials said that during the operation, law enforcement officers, including tactical units, are being used to secure several locations in each city.
They said investigators are currently searching the locations and conducting interviews.
A news conference will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Operations Command Post, 2131 South Spring Valley Road in Junction City.
The Geary County Attorney’s Office, Junction City Police Department, Riley County Police Department, Geary County Sheriff’s Office, Grandview Plaza Police Department, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are a part of the investigation.
