Police said there were two separate incidents of arson over the weekend which occurred at the Church of the Nazarene and at a construction site operated by Walters Morgan Construction.

Lt. Josh Kyle said police were called to the construction site at 2616 Tuttle Creek Blvd. at 6:43 p.m. on Dec. 30 after a passerby reported seeing fire.

Kyle said an unknown suspect ignited a trash pile, but the fire was extinguished before damage was done.

In the second incident, Kyle said an employee of the Church of the Nazarene, 3031 Kimball Ave., reported that the church’s garage had been broken into and that an unknown suspect then burned Styrofoam packaging in the garage. The total damage was about $100.

Kyle said the arson took place sometime between Dec. 31 at 4 p.m. and Jan. 2 at noon.  Both cases are under investigation.
