By The Mercury

Two people were arrested Wednesday for first-degree murder in connection with the death of 68-year-old John Burroughs, who was found dead in his trailer at Redbud Estates Sunday.

Christina Marie Love, 49, and James McKenith, 33, both of 530 Pierre St., No. 1, are confined at the Riley County Jail on $1 million bond each after they were arrested around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 11 for murder in the first degree of Burroughs, who lived at 2500 Farm Bureau Road, Lot 277.

Riley County Police Department Officer Matthew Droge said more details can’t be released because the case is still under investigation. He said even though arrests have been made, the case is still being investigated because the department will be as thorough as possible.
