Justin Tuggle, who made the switch from quarterback to linebacker in the offseason, is listed with Jarell Childs as possible starters for Saturday’s game - a decision that will likely be made later this week.
It appears to be the most tightly contested position battle remaining for the K-State defense.
“It’s a very close competition, which really is a favorable thing for us,” Snyder said. “You see on a daily basis that both of those young guys continue to get better and have performed reasonably well on the practice field, and I’m proud of them for that.
“Both of them, perhaps, bring the same thing to the table. There are some differences. Jarell just has more experience in the system. Justin, we haven’t seen in a ballgame environment yet, but he has picked things up reasonably well.”
