A cement truck driver was flown by Life Star helicopter to a Topeka hospital Monday after suffering serious injuries when his truck rolled onto its side in the 6200 block of Anderson Avenue.
Riley County police and emergency officials responded to the accident at about 12:12 p.m.
No other vehicles were involved.
The truck driver, whose name was unavailable as of Monday afternoon, was not trapped when police arrived as had originally been feared, Officer Matthew Droge said at the scene.
Riley County EMS and the Manhattan Fire Department also responded.
Westar Energy was called to the scene because the truck damaged a utility pole when it fell onto its side into the north ditch.
Droge said more information is expected to be released Tuesday.
