Titans win Major USSSA Mo-Kan title

The 11-and-under Manhattan Titans won the championship of the USSSA Major Divison Mo-Kan state tournament this past weekend in the Kansas City area. That put them at the top of the top division of the 340 11-and-under teams in Kansas and Missouri.

In pool play, the Titans beat the Basehor Falcons, 6-1, then fell to the Mac-N-Seitz Red Sox, 6-4.

In bracket play Sunday, the Titans again beat the Falcons 8-7, scoring six runs in the top of the sixth inning. In the semifinals, they beat the Topeka Thunder, 5-4, in seven innings.

In the finals, they knocked off the Five-Four Kansas City Scouts, 9-7. The Scouts came in ranked 44th in the nation.

The U-11 Titans include: Nic Allen, Dayne Aschenbrenner, Tegan Cain, Xavier Gordon, Garrett Harmison, Tyce Hoover, Cole Schmidt, Marccus Wallace, Peyton Weixelman, Brooks Whaley and Dawson Zenger. Coaches include Steve Aschenbrenner, Brent Cain, Jay Harmison, and Todd Zenger.
