This is the year for Americans to break our financial impasse

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
Everyone should realize that the United States is in severe financial jeopardy. Our national debt is rising daily and now approaches $16 trillion ($16,000,000,000,000). Since President Obama took office, it has risen by over $5 trillion. This fiscal nightmare is everyone’s problem, It amounts to about $49,300 and rising for every person in the United States. Unfortunately, there is no end in sight and no plan has been advanced and acted on by either the Republicans or Democrats. Why is nothing being done? I think it’s because we have reached national gridlock.
