The college campus is given over to pre-collegians

K-State’s summer students won’t be the only ones on campus in the upcoming days.

Thousands will be in attendance for events hosted by Kansas‚ FFA and 4-H and Boys State of Kansas at K-State lasting from Tuesday to Saturday, June 9.

Kansas 4-H Discovery Days began Tuesday and will continue through Saturday at the campus. Approximately 750 youth 13 to 18 years old and chaperones are in attendance. They are taking different courses related to future careers.

The 84th Kansas FFA Convention brings more than 1,500 FFA members, agricultural educators and supporters from across the state of Kansas from Wednesday to Friday. The convention honors outstanding young leaders in the Kansas FFA Association.

Boys State will be on campus from Sunday, June 3 to Saturday, June 9. It is a program in which approximately 470 high school juniors will learn about leadership by becoming a mock, or virtual, government. This is the 75th session of the conference and the 21st year at K-State.
