Thanks for making benefit for auditorium a big success

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

“Give My Regards to Broad-way,” presented as a benefit concert for restoration of Peace Memorial Auditorium, a living memorial to honor the 101 Riley County veterans who died during World War II, was a great success.

A big thanks goes to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity from Kansas State University’s School of Music, Theatre and Dance, to Brett Eichman, conductor of the instrumental ensemble, Phi Mu Alpha Barbershop Quartet, K-State Singers and the K-State Tap Ensemble. Thanks also to soloists Drew Szczesny, Adam Johnson, Jerry Jay Cranford, Aaron Cunningham, Adam Johnson, Sarah Stroll, Vanessa Bell, Randy Frye and Elise Poehling, and the Manhattan American Legion Color Guard.

Thanks also to KMAN radio and the Manhattan Mercury for stories and photos of this grand American Music Spectacular.

Funds for restoration can still be donated to the preservation alliance. For more information, call 539-8937 or visit www.pre-servemanhattanorg.
