Thanks for making 94th city band season such fun

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

What a great concert season we have had! The weather was exceptional, crowds very large and the band was spectacular! Thank you all for attending and supporting the band, and a very special thanks to all who have donated in support of the band through the “Friends of Larry Norvell” fund. We have pur-chased new equipment, instru-ments and music due to your continued support and gen-erosity.

It was very special to have our musical friends from the Fort Riley 1st I.D. Band join us this year — great players, fantastic Americans! We truly enjoyed their contribution. We all look forward to seeing you again next summer for the 95th year of the Manhattan Municipal Band.

We have one more special treat for you, and that is this Tuesday, July 29. At 7:30  p.m. at the band shell, the “204th United States Army Reserve Band” from Vancouver, Wash., will be performing a concert.  One more time to hear some great band music from some outstanding musicians.  Hope to see you all there.
