By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Riley County Extension staff, thanks to all who helped make the Riley County Fair and Kaw Valley Rodeo a success in 2014.

The Riley County Fair is always a good community gath-ering, and this year’s fair was great. The fair is supported each year by hundreds of participants and volunteers. We appreciate the support of the County Commission, Fair Board, Kaw Valley Rodeo Association, Ottaway Amusement Company, Riley County Parks staff, Riley County Public Works, Riley County Emergency Management, the Riley County Police Depart-ment, Dave Taphorn and his security staff and Karen Ericson and Bob Whearty.

Also, we thank the City of Manhattan Park and Recreation, Christine Rogers, Manhattan Sunflower Lions Club, Solar Kiwanis Club, Kan Equip, Bruna Implement Co., the Riley County 4-H Foundation, Livestock Sale supporters, 4-H Ambassadors, superintendents and parent volunteers. We would also like to thank Ben Hopper and Arthur White for their support of the Riley County Idol Contest.

Congratulations to Riley County 4-Hers, and thanks to 4-H members, and open class exhi-bitors for sharing their talents with the community.

The Riley County Fair Board is always interested in suggestions for future improvements. If you have comments concerning the fair, please contact us at 110 Courthouse Plaza, Room B220, Manhattan, KS 66502.

Thanks again for an enjoyable and memorable fair.
