T-Birds hand Indians first loss



The Manhattan High boys’ basketball team lost its first game of the season, falling to Shawnee Heights at home on Friday night, 53-45.

The Indians got 17 points from Payton Stephens, but an off-night from the rest of the team, with no other players in double figures.

Manhattan trailed by six at halftime despite 12 first-half turnovers. In the third, they managed to tie the game at 32 before falling back behind in the fourth quarter.

The Indians travel to Hayden on Tuesday.
