Detectives at the Riley County Police Department have identified a suspect in the Grand Slam Sports burglary and theft committed on Monday.

Capt. Kurt Moldrup said a man has been identified and is cooperating with detectives, but no arrests have been made.

During the burglary, $14,500 worth of sports items, most of them bats and sport shoes, were stolen, but Moldrup said he expects that most of the goods will be recovered.

The burglary reportedly was discovered the next morning when a nearby business owner saw the glass broken out from the front door to the sports store, 2007 Fort Riley Blvd.

The total loss, including damages, was reported at $15,500.
