Suspect held after man found dead

Pottawatomie County authorities believe a Rossville man was murdered early New Year’s Day.

Levi W. Bishop, 24, was found shot to death at 4:43 a.m. inside a car when it pulled up to the St. Marys Police Department, according to a police report.

Three people besides the victim reportedly were in the car when it arrived at the police department, and they summoned an officer for help.

According to a report from Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat, the victim was a passenger in the suspected shooter’s vehicle.

Pablo Alberto Gonzalez, a 21-year-old man from St. Marys, was arrested on second-degree murder charges and is confined in the Pottawatomie County Jail on a $1 million bond.
