Police were notified at 6:55 p.m. on Thursday of a suspicious person in the northeastern portion of Manhattan.

The complainant reported that an unidentified man in a light color ed vehicle may have attempted to summon a child to come to him.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate any person or vehicle matching the initial description. The RCPD wasn’t able to confirm that any crime was committed.

Officer Matthew Droge of the RCPD said in a report that parents should speak with their children about the potential dangers of approaching a stranger.

Parents are encouraged to supervise younger children while outside or in public, he said. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the RCPD at 785-537-2112 or in an emergency, 911.
