Stranded driver grateful for assistance of ‘angels’

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

I want to sincerely thank all of the wonderful people who helped me when my car mysteriously died at the corner of Anderson and Sunset avenues the afternoon of July 31.

I will be forever grateful to Joe McGraw — a complete stranger — for pulling over for me to see if I needed assistance. He not only helped me by trying to start my car with my battery charger — which didn’t work — but then he called Manhattan Wrecker Service for me.

During this time, two police officers stopped. They were so helpful and kind and made sure no one hit my car by parking behind me. So I really want to thank officers Erin Freidline and Andrew Toolin for their help.

They stayed until my car was safely loaded onto the Man-hattan Wrecker truck by the very friendly and sympathetic Matt. He also drove me over to Car Clinic so Tim and Gary, the wonderful mechanics, could take my car. When I could not reach my family by phone, Tim was so kind to give me a ride home, even though it was already after 5 p.m.

Lastly, thank you, Mom, for letting me borrow a vehicle for as long as a I need it.

Thank you — all of you are angels to me.
