Nearly 180 concert-goers were cited for alcohol violations at the 2013 Country Stampede, officials announced recently.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat said 163 people were issued citations for minor in possession, 15 for transporting open container and one for furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The other highest arrests or citations were 13 people for obstruction, seven people for criminal trespass and three people for theft.

Other violations included two arrests for battery, one DUI, one arrest for resisting arrest and one incident of battery of a law enforcement officer.

Riat said the arrests and citations were a joint effort of the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and the Riley County Police Department.

In an earlier release, Riat said 14 females and 11 males had been taken to the Pottawatomie County Jail in relation to incidents at the four-day concert.
