What does Country Stampede have in common with the Kentucky Derby and the BBQ World Championship?
As of Sept. 1, all will have been featured on a new show on the Travel Channel focusing on fan experiences at major events.
The show, titled “Fandemonium” and featuring food personality Adam Richman, debuted in mid-July. The episode focusing on Country Stampede airs at 8 p.m. locally Sept. 1.
The show’s premise is to look at festivals and other gatherings along with their fans’ creative and sometimes crazy ways of feeding themselves during the events. To prepare for Stampede, Richman spent time with patrons in the campgrounds at the most recent Stampede, giving them the chance to show off their culinary concoctions to a national TV audience. He also visited artists backstage for a behind the scenes look at how the acts entertain themselves when not entertaining on stage. Richman then went to the food court for a look at the wide variety of unique vendor food that is available at the festival.
Richman is best known as the host of “Man Vs. Food,” a show that sends him around the country taking on various food consumption challenges. In addition to the BBQ championships and the Kentucky Derby, he’s already been to the Indy 500 and Daytona 500 auto races for Fandemonium.
