A St. Marys man was bound over on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault after a preliminary hearing in Pottawatomie County District Court on Thursday.

Pablo Gonzalez, 21, was arrested in Pottawatomie County early New Year’s Day after Levi W. Bishop, 24, of Rossville was found shot to death inside a car that pulled up to the St. Marys Police Department.

Bishop was reportedly a passenger in the same vehicle as Gonzalez. Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Feb. 25.

State prosecuting attorney Sherri Schuck said Gonzalez’s aggravated assault charge stems from an alleged incident with a different person that occurred in the same time frame.

Gonzalez is confined in the Pottawatomie County jail on a $1 million bond.
