Srna, Herren sweep top 3A honors

The Rock Creek baseball team had four players selected to the Class 3A All-State teams following a 21-3 season and an appearance in the state tournament.

Josh Srna, who will play baseball at Washburn University next year, made First-Team as a catcher and was selected as the 3A Player of the Year.

Ryan Harshbarger, who has signed to play at Longview Community College, was Second-Team All-State at shortstop.

Brandon Lutgen and Shane Adams were Second-Team All-State pitchers, while Rock Creek head coach Chad Herren was selected as the 3A Coach of the Year.

In addition to All-State honors, the Mustangs had four players named to the First-Team All-Mid-East League, which included: Harshbarger, Srna, Lutgen and Adams.

Eric Willard, who was named Honorable-Mention All-League, will play his college baseball at Ottawa University next season, while Adam Schmitz will continue his career at Manhattan Christian College.
