Former Kansas State running back Darren Sproles was at his best Monday night, helping the New Orleans Saints to a 38-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Sproles caught seven passes for 114 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Drew Brees in the second quarter. K-State’s all-time leading rusher also scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter to give the Saints a 7-0 lead. He finished with 28 rushing yards on four carries.
It wasn’t a very good night for the other former K-State running back in this game — the Dolphins’ Daniel Thomas, who finished with only 5 yards on four carries. The Wildcats’ second-leading rusher in school history also caught one pass for 1 yard.
