Domingo Soto, accused of aiding and abetting the December 2011 murder of Steve Freel, pleaded not guilty to those charges in Riley County District Court Monday.

Soto, 41, is accused of providing Michael Layne, 19, with the firearm Layne allegedly used to shoot and murder Freel, whose body was found on Dec. 7 near the 5300 block of N. 48th Street.

Soto also pleaded not guilty to intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine, possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property.

He waived his right to a trial within 90 days and will make his next court hearing on June 25.
