A Fort Riley soldier reported that he was jumped early Saturday morning in the 1200 block of Bluemont Avenue after he walked friends home.

Lt. Josh Kyle said Korey Maddy, 26, Fort Riley, was found in a north alley of the avenue with visible trauma to his face and head.

Maddy told police that he was jumped by multiple people between 3:20 and 3:25 a.m. Kyle said it is unknown if there is a relationship between Maddy and the perpetrators. He said there is no indication of a robbery.

Riley County EMS transported Maddy to Mercy Regional Health Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
