Snyder, Malone honored on awards lists

Kansas State coach Bill Snyder and corner back Nigel Malone were recognized on Wednesday when the different college football awards list.

Snyder was named the 2011 Sporting News Coach of the Year after leading the Wildcats to a 10-2 season and a second-place finish in the Big 12 after a preseason prediction of eighth.

Nigel Malone was honored by the Associated Press as a third-team All-American after leading the Big 12 with seven interceptions and finishing with 57 tackles and a defensive touchdown.
