Should we heed positive advice about life or fear dire warnings?

To the Editor:
Lately, I’ve reminded myself of a character in a Woodie Allen movie who is occupied with thoughts of life and death. It began with noticing a plethora of articles warning of “premature death.” Their gloom-and-doom approach to better living doesn’t attract me.
