Shots fired in Junction City

Two Junction City men are in serious condition after being shot in Junction City early Friday morning.

Junction City Police Department Lt. Jeff Childs said officers were dispatched to the area of 1450 N. Calhoun St. at approximately 2:30 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

There, Childs said, officers located Lemar T. Davis, 25, who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Meanwhile, Childs said, a man named Michael A. Washington, 25, arrived at the Geary Community Hospital with two gunshot wounds. He said officers discovered that Washington had been involved in the N. Calhoun Street incident.

Childs said Washington and Davis were transferred to Stormont-Vail in Topeka in serious condition.

He said the case is still under investigation.
