Sheriff seeks suspect in pizza delivery robbery

By The Mercury

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the whereabouts of William John Thomas, 23, known as Billy Thomas, who was issued a warrant for aggravated robbery.  The warrant stems from Tuesday’s robbery of a Gambino’s Pizza delivery person in St.Marys in the 800 block of Willow Street.

Authorities said at 9:20 that night, a Gambino’s Pizza delivery person reported he was approached by a man wearing dark clothes and a white cloth across his face — now believed to be Thomas — and ordered to hand over delivery cash. According to the report, when the delivery person refused to do so, the suspect produced a knife, walking toward the victim and yelling at him to give the cash.  Authorities said it’s believed the suspect set up the delivery to rob the victim.

According to Sheriff Greg Riat, Thomas could be armed with a knife and should not be approached.  Thomas is a white male, 6 feet tall with blond hair and blue eyes.  Tipsters can call the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 785-457-3353 or their local law enforcement agencies.
