Science Olympiad places 3rd in state

The Manhattan High Science Olympiad team placed second in Large School Division and third place overall during the state competition on April 6. Science Olympiad received 11 medals: five gold, four silver and three bronze.The team received gold medals in the following categories:

Water Quality – Austin Canady and Katherine Culbertson

Designer Genes – Austin Canady and Christine Shiau

Dynamic Planet – Sarah Shi and Katherine Culbertson

Forensics – Katherine Culbertson and Albert Cochrane

Gravity Vehicle – Albert Cochrane and Krista Dix

They received silver medals in:

Disease Detectives – Nick Donohoue and Albert Cochrane

Elastic Launch Glider – Amy Fan and Sriramana Sanker

Magnetic Levitation – Ian Miller and Danny Aramouni

Thermodynamics – Praveen Ramaswamy and Amy Fan

They received bronze medals in:

Circuit Lab – Ian Miller and Nick Donohoue

Experimental Design – Krista Dix, Anna Brokesh and Danny Aramouni
