Scahill, Griese sentenced for fatal apartment fire

The duo convicted of setting fire to an apartment complex that killed a K-State research were sentenced to prison in federal court Monday afternoon.

District Judge Julie Robinson sentenced Patrick Scahill, 21, to 30 years in prison and five years of supervised release.

And sentenced Virgina Griese, 20, to 20 years in prison with two years of supervised release

They were convicted on the charge of arson resulting in death for a Feb. 6 fire at Lee Crest Apartments that killed Vasanta Tallem, 34.

The pair was also ordered to pay restitution of approximately $157,000.
