Sandra Kuhn

Sandra Cather Kuhn, 64, of Kansas City, Missouri, died September 20 at KU Medical Center of pneumonia.

The family provided some of the following information.

She was born Aug. 26, 1949, in Topeka. She was the daughter of Verne G. and Helen (Gros) Kuhn.

Sandi grew up in Germany, Sedalia, Mo., and Manhattan. She attended Manhattan Catholic Schools and graduated from Park University in Parkville, Mo., with degrees in social work and social sciences. She worked as a social worker for the state of Missouri until she was disabled with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and emphysema. Sandi was an avid beaded jewelry designer and taught beading classes at Communiversity through UMKC.

She was preceded in death by her father, Verne. G. Kuhn, her maternal grandparents, Peter and Louise (Umscheid) Gros, and her paternal grandparents, George and Maymie Kuhn.

Sandi is survived by her beloved daughter, Kimberly Kuhn, of Kansas City, Mo.; her mother Helen (Gros) Kuhn of Manhattan; a brother Leland (Andrea) Kuhn of Kend Island, Md.; a nephew Joseph Kuhn of Lawton, Okla.; and numerous cousins and dear friends.

A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at The Colonnade at the Concourse in Kansas City, Mo.
