Ross Kivett named Player of the Week

K-State second baseman Ross Kivett was named Big 12 Player of the Week for the period ending March 2, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. It is the senior’s first career conference player of the week honor.

Kivett tied for the Big 12-lead with a .500 (6 for 12) batting average during K-State’s 3-0 week, while he finished second in hits and third in OBP (.536).

The senior, who also had three RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs scored, had a hit and an RBI in each game, including a season-high three hits in the Wildcats’ 8-3 victory over Missouri State on Saturday.
