Rosemary Elizabeth Shewmake, 80, of Manhattan, died October 18 at the Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community.

She worked as a kitchen aide at Manhattan Junior High School for 28 years.  She also worked at the Manhattan Town Center Mall for nine years.  Rosemary also worked at Motel 6 as a housekeeper.

Rosemary Morvek was born in Barnes on Oct. 6, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Clementina (Karas) Morvek. She attended and graduated from Barnes High School in 1954, and attended Crestview Christian Church of Manhattan.

Rosemary is survived by two sons, Gary Shewmake, of Manhattan, and David Shewmake, of Junction City; a daughter, Carol Pickel, of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and a sister, Arlene Garcia, of Excelsior Springs, Mo.

A memorial service will be held at the Crestview Christian Church in Manhattan on Saturday at 1 p.m.  Inurnment will be a private ceremony at a later date.

The family requests donations to help with funeral expenses, which can be sent to Irvin- Parkview Funeral Home.
