Romero hires attorney

By The Mercury

Former Kansas State point guard Leti Romero has retained attorney Donald Jackson to represent her in the ongoing fight for a scholarship release.

Jackson — from Montgomery, Ala. — has requested K-State president Kirk Schulz “to resolve this situation.”

According to a story in the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, Jackson told Schulz in writing that Romero wouldn’t “accept anything less than a full release… that will allow her to transfer to the school of her choice.”

K-State reportedly granted some schools permission to contract Romero, however, but according to the All-Big12 selection in the WSJ, none were from a list of about 100 schools she was interested in when the initial transfer process began.
