The Rock Creek softball team traveled to Seneca to face first-time opponent Nemaha Central for a doubleheader last Friday. The Mustangs outscored their opponent 30-0.
An eight-run explosion in the fifth inning of Game 1 pushed the Mustangs to a 12-0 win in five innings.
Megan Srna racked up three RBIs on three hits for Mustangs. Rock Creek’s Blair Campbell kept Nemaha off the scoreboard for all five innings, surrendering just two hits with eight strikeouts.
In Game 2, the Mustangs offense proved to be too much for Nemaha again, as Rock Creek won in an 18-0 rout. The Mustangs scored 10 runs in the first three innings.
An RBI double by Kayla Boltz, a three-run home run by Codi Ebert, and a two-run double by Megan Srna in the first inning supplied a ton of early offense for the Mustangs.
Alexis Wilson added a two-run home run in the second inning, as she racked up four RBIs on three hits for Mustangs.
The Mustangs’ Winter Henry gave up two hits with three strikeouts.
Rock Creek will host Alma-Wabaunsee tonight and then travel to Silver Lake Thursday in four important Mid-East League games this week.
