Rock Creek sweeps Abilene

The Rock Creek softball team took two from Abilene on Tuesday, winning 6-1 and 14-4 over the Cowgirls.

The Mustangs got off to a slow start, but got their offense together late in Game 1.

Alexis Wilson and Blair Campbell each went 2 for 3 and Winter Henry and Brynn Hammett each went 2 for 4.

Rock Creek had 10 hits.

Campbell pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk. She struck out one.

Rock Creek broke the game open in the sixth inning of Game 2, scoring seven runs to end the contest by run rule.

Hammett was 3 for 4 with two doubles and Campbell was also 3 for 4. Henry finished the game 3 for 5. Rock Creek had 18 hits.

Hammett pitched Rock Creek to the win, allowing five hits and no walks.

The Mustangs are 3-5 on the season and will have their next game on Tuesday against Clay Center.
