The Rock Creek softball team suffered a pair of losses last Thursday night, losing 6-0 and 10-6 to Silver Lake. The losses dropped the team to 6-2 in Mid-East League play and 13-5 overall.
Game 1 featured the second shutout of the Mustangs this season, as the team had just four hits, all singles, with none coming in the same inning.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning, but the Eagles packed on six runs from there on out.
Katie Hodges took the loss in the game, allowing 10 hits and three earned runs.
Rock Creek got the bats going in Game 2 with 10 hits and a 3-for-4 effort from Bailey Elliott. Megan Srna was 3-for-5 and Lauren Overkamp had a late double to keep the game close, but errors from the Mustangs helped Silver Lake score a handful of runs.
Thursday’s game were the last home contests for six seniors for the Mustangs, as the team celebrated the careers of Elliott, Jessi Snapp, Hodges, Ashley McDaris and Caitline Christenson.
Rock Creek concluded the regular season on Monday with a doubleheader at Rossville. The Mustangs will play in the Beloit regional.
